This is not an answer to OP but a request for more information. Please, repost as a comment and delete your “non-answer”.
Use “Find and Replace” as you would with MS Word, however, in the “Find” block place the dollar symbol ($), then go to “Replace: Other Options” and select “Regular Expressions”. Deselect all others. Then simply execute “Replace All”. That should do the trick. It’s not intuitive because of the code “$” rather than the paragraph symbol…but that will eliminate all hard returns.
