Desktop icon does not work

With the update clicking on the desktop icon does NOTHING. This has also happened before with several previous updates, and in each case I had delete it and to reinstall the most previous update. Another download a few days later has usually worked, but surely this could be corrected, for all time, before it occurs?

Can be difficult for an unknown OS…

Windows 11.

Translated via Deepl:

This is a problem with your operating system (not a LibreOffice problem!)
The icon on the desktop is always linked to the respective installed LibreOffice version.
So when you update, the icon loses the connection to the program.

and this doesn’t sound right. Only if folder or file is renamed a Shortcut looses its connection. If the executable file is at the same path after update, there should be no problem.
.
Also LO-Updater could recreate a shortcut.

Probably, just go to Control Panel - Programs& Features, right click LibreOffice and select Repair should fix it.

Maybe anti virus is getting in the way?

I downloaded the update again intending to do what you suggest. It was only a few hours later, and this time the new icon worked.
As the later download worked when the earlier one had not, I presumed the problem had been addressed in the download. Exactly the same thing has now occurred with 3 or 4 updates.

It is something to do with your computer/installation. Possibly you have a Brother printer, or maybe some other cause. For me it works every time.
