Detect hidden network links in writer documents

I have multiple writer documents, which I share with my local LAN using a NAS. This NAS is on my desktop, and I can hear when it is active, hardly never. Except ofcource when I use the LAN. Perfect no problem.

I use the LAN to share, internal my documents. Also no problem. But when I open a local documents, with only a local template attached to it, I hear my NAS. Many times, this is no just an exception. So I assume, there is, within the document, somewhere a link to the network. But in the properties Menu → File → properties, I can not find a network path.

I am a bit worried. That there is an dependency some where. And now, with just luck, it works. The document could not work standalone.

Could there be an network link? Which is hidden to me. If so is there a way to find this netwerk link, and remove it?

Have you checked with the Navigator (F5 if side pane is not visible)? It lists all the links under the Hyperlinks topic.

@ajlittoz You are right. In my document I have hyperlinks to external internet sources. I copied my document, removed, the hyperlinks, closed it. And opened it again. And now indeed, the NAS is not active.
So that is the reason, and of course I do not mind to have references to the internet. That is my choice in the first place. But why the NAS is called, to access files on the internet? My NAS is not needed for that.

Just to be clear, I would like to understand what happening, nothing more.

If you removed hyperlinks, this is not an internet access matter, but one about files. I kind of remember you’re under Ubuntu (but Gnome or KDE?). With such an OS, a “file” can not only reside on the computer disk but can also be anywhere on the LAN. All you have to do is prefix the file name with a protocol like smb: or ftp: This is fully transparent to applications.

I suggest you check Tools>Options, LibreOffice>Paths to see if any path points to your NAS. This can also occur through the mounting point for the NAS filesystem on your local FS.

@ajlittoz I checked Menu → Tools → Options → LibreOffice paths. All paths are local (/home. /opt, /tmp). I got what you write about the files on Ubuntu.

My main worry, I might lose document data is gone. As an extra check, I disconnected my network connection, and then try to open a document with hyperlinks. Works fine.
All my worries are gone. Thanks ajlitoz
