Dimension lines that change lengths slightly when connected in series [twips explanation accepted]

I have created a dimension of 24" (1:28 scale ratio). I copied the existing dimension line. Then I examined the “Position and Size” to determine the right side “Position X” of my initial creation. On the (second) copied dimension I copy and pasted the right side “Position X” amount into the left side “Position X” of the second dimension to link the two dimensions together for a 48" overall length. I continued this until I had 11 segments that should total 264" overall.

The attached pdf are images of this issue where the dimensions did not stay preciously 24". Some became 23.99", etc.

I believe that the attachment should be relatively self-explanatory.

I could be incorrect but, I think this might be a bug. Can anyone recreate this?

Thanks, now I understand better. I have been using LO for years and seen this issue in different areas. (I’ll tag this subject as solved for me. With hopes that those in power will continue to pursue a resolution.)

You might get an extra decimal position using Inkscape which is a dedicated drawing program. Maybe try Blender FreeCad but it has a steeper learning curve
