Disable file locking at least for 'read'

Can we please get the ability to disable file locking, if not for edit, at least for read? If I open a file, I cant use ftp to send it to my server because it’s locked. I have to close the file, then ftp it. It seems inconvenient that another app cant even read the file.
This doesnt work:

You can disable that, by using
Options-LibreOffice-Advanced-Open
Expert Configuration, searching for
UseLocking and
setting it to false

Just a thought…does it work to use Save A Copy from your open file then ftp the copy?

I don’t understnd this. My system can copy a file even if locked using a lockfile by LibreOffice, and also the service com.sun.star.ucb.SimpleFileAccess called from a Sub running for LibreOffice doesn’t refuse to copy it. As far as I can see, only an instance of LibreOffice (probably also AOO) looks for the lockfile if it shall be used to open the sourcefile. Strange that your ftp software does. What’s your “another app”?
