Disabling "Track Changes" notification bar on shared documents

LO 26.2.1.2 (x86_64)
Platform agnostic (Occurs on Windows/Mac/Linux)

How does one disable the blue “Track Changes” bar on a shared LibreOffice document, for any user who may open that document?

I am not looking for each and every user to have to click buttons when they open the document. This should either be a global solution, set when the document is created, or as a setting in the user’s instance of LO.

A solution was suggested in Disabling Track Changes but the only choice there appears to be merging the document.

The only reference to changes in Settings is in the section for Calc, and it just talks about colors.

The document in question lives in a shared folder. It is shared so that multiple people can view it simultaneously, not necessarily edit it.

Granted, were changes to be made, they would need to be reconciled.

But until such reconciliation occurs, how can the blue bar be disabled from showing?

Please advise. Thanks!

This infobar was implemented in scope of tdf#125909 (Writer) and tdf#169253 (Calc, your tag). It is a security measure, against situation when a user modifies a document which tracks changes, but doesn’t show that - and the user sends the document to someone, not realizing that the document still contains something that the user thought removed.

In any case: this infobar may be disabled using HiddenTrackChanges expert configuration.

Ah, thank you! Showing the bar makes sense but does not fit our general use case.

For others looking, the option is here:

Take care!
