Displays Date Instead of Currency

Version: 25.8.6.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: b4b39682cd9868fa725bc664aff94278d315bd04
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10 X86_64 (build 19045); UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US

The cell is formatted as Currency, the value entered is 1075, but the display is showing 10 Dec 1902 instead.

FWIW & FYI
In Windows, Settings, Time & Language, Regional Format, I have the following setting:

When did this bug first surface and what is the official workaround?

Use Clone Formatting ( Brush icon ), from D3 to D4.

?? propably the cell is controlled by some Conditional-Format-Style with explicit date-formatted numbers ??

guessing from silly screenshots is rather difficult… why dont you attach the real .ods -file

@karolus Good idea!

Another factor that might be involved is the (attached) .ods hadn’t been created from scratch in the current version, but rather was created in an earlier version, then Saved As… for this new project with the reason being cell formats and styles wouldn’t need to be done all over again.

In my most recent tests, starting from scratch in v25.8.6.2, the issue described at the top of this thread hasn’t been observed.

Cell Styles Background Odd Row Color Gray 1 and Background Even Row Color Gray 3 used in conditional formatting have Number Category set to Date. Set the Number format for both styles back to General. Personally, I would colour either even or odd rows and leave the other with the normal background
.
The first conditional formatting range needs tidying up, a simple A3:H34 would work better.
Remove the other conditional formatting which doesn’t do anything because the first one overrides it and it duplicates in any event.

If you are working in older dates then you might need to consider when countries changed to Gregorian calendar - Wikipedia

Thank you for looking at this and figuring out my having incorrectly used Conditional Formatting. I had created this forgotten issue for myself a while ago, never figured it out exactly at that time, and was why I had abandoned Conditional Formatting for that project (Castine Lotting Study : V. Kelly Bellis : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive).

Most of my deed research projects or genealogy projects don’t go back far enough in time, but I very much appreciate your mentioning the potential need to consider the dates of adoption of the Gregorian on a country by country basis. Here’s the link to the table showing it - Gregorian calendar - Wikipedia

I had no idea that there are still countries not using the Gregorian calendar.
