Documentation Issue: Not All Components Listed

I’ve tagged this “Base” because that’s what I’m looking for at present…

The most-recent user guide for Base is 7.3. It doesn’t show on the first page; it doesn’t even show on the first several screens of the “more documentation” area. This is not well considered: Each component, on the first page, should have a link to its most-recent user guide.

All of this leaves me uncertain on several issues that for prior versions of Base itself (in the 5 series) proved barriers to adopting it. The 7.3 manual is ambiguous and/or silent on those issues, so that’s another frustration.

PLEASE redesign the main page for obtaining documentation so that every component is listed on that first page.

Another problem: Base Guide has been a translation from an older German “Base Handbuch”. There is no person, which wants to translate the current version of this “Base Handbuch” (will be published by me for LO 26.8 at the end of this month…).

I added some tags, as the persons reading database related topics may not hande the website.

The current version is a recent redesign, so I have not much hope for the english version.
The structure of the german version may be a possibility:

Auf Deutsch ist besser.

However, because I do support work in English… and even some of those I’m advising (who often don’t Read The Fabulous Manual first) are perplexed by the age of some of the documentation.

Actually most parts of the suite are quite old and for example using Writers buttons for bold/italics/underline does not really need an updated guide. And Base didn’t get many updates in the last years.

Additional “problem”: Change of version-names makes 7.x looking older than it is. (In current name-scheme 7.6 would be something like 23.8)

You don’t mention where the “first page” is, but I suppose you meant https://books.libreoffice.org/
