Until I upgrade to 6.3.5 a couple days ago I could print double sided quite happily. Since then it has not been possible. The print procedure refuses to accept that A4 is the document size and keeps reverting to a smaller letter size so that my Epson printer then stops printing saying that the paper in the machine does not comply with that specified in the print routine. Why? What to do?
What is your “localization” set to?? (LO menu Tools → Options → Language Settings → Languages.) If set for English (USA) the paper size A4 might not be possible.
Good thought. I have checked my language settings and they all specify English UK so that is not the problem.
Hmm. There is an outside chance that the printer settings were changed somehow. Use LO menu File → Printer Settings and press the Properties button. Make sure that paper size is A4 and also that Duplex printing is enabled.
Tried that too but all settings are correct. This never happened with the version prior to 6.3.5! Very frustrating. I have to copy the document to another application (any one) and duplex print from there
Sounds like a very strange bug, which (in theory) v6.3.5 shouldn’t have. You could try resetting your user profile, but I have no idea whether that would help. You could also try restarting LO in Safe Mode (menu Help → Restart in safe Mode).
If all else fails, you might consider going back to a somewhat earlier version of LO. See here for earlier versions. V6.3.1.1 might be early enough.
Tried everything you suggested but to no avail. Your last suggestion gave my the clue though - I seem to remember that before upgrading to 6.3.5 I was using 6.2.something so I reverted to 6.2.8 and hey presto the ability to double side printing has returned without any special measures having to be taken. When I next upgrade I shall uninstall the 6.2.8 and load the new version from scratch. The problem may have been something to do with the upgrade procedure. Thanks for your interest though.
