Drop down menus turned dark

My drop-down menus just turned dark all of a sudden. I can not even read the menus

How do I remove the dark background from the menus?

[lomenus] If I switch Skia on or off (it depends on what I did last time) it changes - until the next time I open a Libre Office app…

Not certain enough to say how to fix it, sorry. I just save my work using CTRL-S exit the program, restart and the light menus reappear.
