I’m using LibreOffice 5.4.2.2 on a Mac and I’d like to insert nice-looking Emojis in my documents.
For some, like , this works pretty well. Two options:
(1) Menu bar > Input options > Show Emoji & Symbols > pick one & double-click to insert
(2) Open Emojipedia in Chrome, pick one & copy-paste.
This works, even though LibreOffice seems to get confused sometimes about the hand being brown rather than yellow.
For others, like 🤷, it works so-so: I managed to get a shrugging woman, but often LibreOffice would convert her to something like ⍰⍰♀, and she ended up yellow rather than black.
did not work properly. I want a yellow triangle, but LibreOffice insists on changing it into a less-attractive black-and-white character.
Is there a way to reliably insert emojis so they actually look like emojis?
I know I could insert my emojis as little PNGs but this sounds like a hassle: their size wouldn’t follow the font size, they easily end up in the wrong position, and they mess with my line spacing.
Thanks for any help!
