Encrypted Calc document saved in Fedora appears corrupted in Debian

Any encrypted *.ods spreadsheet I save with a password using LibreOffice 25.8.7 on Fedora 43 appears corrupted when I try to open it in Debian 12 using LibreOffice 7.4.7. Any attempt to repair the file is unsuccessful. Somewhat frustratingly, an unencrypted *.ods does not have this problem.

I’ve tried doing the reverse (saving a password-encrypted *.ods document in Debian 12 LibreOffice 7.4.7 and opening in Fedora 43 LibreOffice 25.8.7) and this works fine. Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated!

I think not a corruption, encryption was modified with ODF Wholesome Encryption (ver 24.2).
So you need to save with a version readable with 7.4.
File version can be changed on Menu>Tools>Options>Load/Save>General - Default file format.

Thank you, this was good for me to learn! For what it’s worth I found I can also use Debian Backports to install LibreOffice 25 on Debian 12 (bookworm).
