I have document with 86 endnotes. They started life as footnotes with decimal numbers. When I changed them to ENDNOTES the numbering changed to Roman. They will not change back to footnotes, nor can I reset them to arabic numerals. Tools > Footnotes & EndNotes says format is “1,2,3.” but it lies. I wand them all back to decimal numbering. How do I do this?
Note that the dialog pane for Tools > Footnotes & EndNotes there are two tabs, one for footnotes and one for endnotes. Click the Endnotes tab to bring up the page of endnotes settings.
(Are you on MacOS? On the Mac version the “tabs” may appear as buttons instead.)
