I want to enter NAME, ADDRESS, CITY/STATE, and PHONE NUMBER into a single cell as FOUR separate lines into a single cell, without wraparound. Would like data centered vertical and horizontal but left justified is ok too. I am a new user of LibreCalc but have experience with other pgms.
A “solution” to this question in the literal sense should be suspected to be a way to hell.
Never create this kind of compounds if you not only want to use the sheet as a kind of printable scratchpad, but as a container for data that may need to be evaluated, maintained (updated, completed), otherwise used in some way one day.
Data are data! If you use a spreadsheet for data keepig best regard at least:
- One field (semantic entity of the data) - one column.
- No intermediary rows!
- No layout-oriented data sheets.
- Use dedicated sheets with pulling formulas for printing!
See if Writing Multi-line Text is helpful.
You can adjust alignment as required via the menu Format | Cells and select the Alignment tab.
I have done this. How do I input the data so that it appears as 4 separate lines within the one cell?
Did you look at the link I posted? As the Help suggests,
pressing the Ctrl+Enter keys inserts a manual line break. This shortcut works directly in the cell or in the input line
As you enter data, just use that key combination when you want the next text to start on a new line.
I have done this. But how to make data appear as 4 separate lines within the one cell. How to separate the data NAME ADDRESS CITY PHONE NUMBER as 4 lines within the one cell.
