Error message trying to Install LibreOffice 26.2.2

I have just downloaded the latest version and when I go to install it I get the message: “The installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vender to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package”.

I have tried downloading the file using Google Chrome and Opera and the same thing happens.

I have a Lenovo Think Pad 3, 8.00GB RAM, 11thGen Intel(R) Core™i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz processor running Windows 11 Home.

Please help as I now need an Office suite and have been advised that this is a very good one.

Thanks to everyone in advance

Maybe the browser tries to install it for you or the file is not fully downloaded.
Just download the file (LibreOffice_26.2.2_Win_x86-64.msi), wait for your browser to tell you the download is complete, then double-click the downloaded file in your file manager to install it.
.
Check that you can install from outside Microsoft App store, click Start menu > Settings > Apps > Advanced app settings and make sure that in Choose where to get apps that Anywhere is selected.

I was double clicking from the file manager on all occasions that I treied.

Thanks for the comment about Microsoft App store but that matches the information that you gave as well.

I have also tried the S mode for apps and my version of the App store is old and does not have that so my device is not running in S mode.

Are there any other suggestions?

Download again. Verify with the checksums to see that the download is complete. If you install 7-Zip then you get a CRC SHA entry in the context menu from which you can calculate the check sum of your download and then compare with the listed checksum.
