Error - The path D:\asdf\book.odt\content.xml does not exist

Hello,

I have a book right here.
Since today when I open the book I get the error message:

“Confirmation

The document BUCH.odt contains an or
several links to external data.
Would you like to change the document and
update all links,
to get the latest data?
Yes / No”.

“Bestätigung

Das Dokument BUCH.odt enthält einen oder
mehrere Links zu externen Daten.
Möchten Sie das Dokument ändern und
alle Links aktualisieren,
um die neuesten Daten zu erhalten?
Ja / Nein”.

If I click “No” nothing happens of course.

If I click “Yes”:

“Error
The path
D:\asdf\book.odt\content.xml
does not exist.”

“Fehler
Der Pfad
D:\asdf\book.odt\content.xml
existiert nicht.”

Didn’t find any related topics to my issue.

It is hard for me to guess without seeing the file.
Do you have two files? One BUCH.odt and other book.odt?
Have you tried to open the book.odt file with a file archiver?

Hello,

yes and no.
#1 I have my original file called “BUCH.odt”.
And directly after saving and closing the project I make a copy of it in Windows 10
via Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V in the same folder.
So I have a second file called “BUCH - Kopie.odt”.

#2 I also have a .rar file in that folder that has personal notes that are unrelated.

#3 No. I did not try that. I opened the BUCH.odt file via WinRar 6.24.
I opened the “content.xml” file via Microsoft Edge and via Notepad++.
Now I’m starting to understand that .odt is sorta a container thingy
and it looks like when you save a site for offline use.

The formation on Notepad++ is totally _____ as it’s displaying the whole
book in 2 lines,
while Edge is basically showing me my whole book. I don’t know.
looks a little like HTML / CSS gibberish.

What you see is XML. But while xml is more a set of rules to create grammar for a language html is one of the languages created.

HTML 5, one vocabulary, two serializations | 2008 | Blog | W3C.

If it is gibberish for you depends on the effort you put in learning…
