No problem typing Esperanto letters via Ek! in LO 5.0.2.1 and 5.3.3.2 (portable) under Windows 7. Your issue might be particularly about LO 5.2.7 or about your version of Windows (which you keep strictly secret for an unknown reason). Well, upgrade LO.
