Exported to EPUB, formatting lost

I’ve got a couple of in-progress novels being written with Write. Ultimately I want the novels in EPUB form. The basic format is header with title, chapter sub-heads for start of chapter, footer with page number (copyright on first page of document), indented para’s with automatic hyphenation.

Export as a PDF works as expected - all layout features appear as they do with write. Export to EPUB was a dismal failure, with none of the layout features preserved, down to indenting is lost.

Advice on exporting to EPUB, please?

And what is the file format of the original document? ODF, OOXML, or some older and foreign file format?

Can you upload a few page version of that document here?

Using fixed instead of reflow took care of the problem. With one curious exception: one font, which had limited use, didn’t carry over to the EPUB file. I attribute this to the font, however.
