Extreme difficulty saving a protected file without the Password

I have a document in Write on Version 7.0.0.1 which is protected with a password. Every time I need that file I enter a Password. I now no longer need that protection and have tried all the usual ways of saving it now without a password. The “Save as” element shows it as blank, but even when I try and save it under another file name, the “Save as” pocket is already blank but it saves the file with the original Password still included, Can only open the file by entering a Password. How do I save that file without a password?

Thanks

Why does one keep using a 7.0.0.1 (or any x.y.0 for that matter) version after years?

Because I had all sorts of problems with the up-to-date version so went backwards ro a version that was working on my MAC!

As your version is containing the bug, you can either try to update to 7.0.4 or 7.1 or as a workaround remove the protection on another computer with updates or OpenOffice (if only one file is concerned). Also a version 6 can remove the data. You may check how to have multiple versions if LO on your computer.

Thanks for that suggestion. I have now gone on to 7.1.0.3 and all seems to doing as I want to and save and use the file without the password. Cheers, altv84
