This seems to be an endless discussion - why are the files locked after saving and quitting the application?
There must be someone grown-up addressing this in the development process.

There must be someone grown-up filing a bug report properly, to enable someone (grown-up or otherwise) to address it.
Probably LibreOffice is crashing not closing. Make sure you close LibreOffice fully before shutting down to give LibreOffice time to close properly.
That does not clarify if this is the right or wrong place to raise the topic
Well - If I had had a crash, I would have mentioned that. Turn off the AI if it hasn’t anything useful to say
(Found out that Al is not AI -but who can see the difference between a capitalized i and a lowercase L)
Ohhh … Be Safe of course
EarnestAl is a person, like yourself. That is an upper case A followed by a lower case ell.
Hard to spot with not-so-good eyes
You haven’t mentioned the actual content of the error message you see; this would be helpful to those trying to help. You might also mention your LO version and operating system.
See if you need to add LibreOffice to your anti-virus/anti-ransomware Allowed list. You might need to add soffice.bin, see Defender Controlled folder access exception for LibreOffice - The Document Foundation Wiki for path.
If it is not that, I would be inclined to test with a temporary user profile .
If it has no problems with a temporary profile then you might need to do a backup and a partial reset of the user profile.
I’ll be back about that
