For no apparent reason, sometimes when I click on any type of LO file, they do not open. Not by using Open either.
I have to completely restart my computer. I have already re-installed LO twice. What a waste of time.
When LO gets jammed up make sure you also close the Quickstarter process in the systray (right click and select Exit).
Or, disable the Quickstarter: Tools > Options. LibreOffice > Memory then uncheck ‘Enable systray Quickstarter’.
You need to make sure LO is completely shutdown / closed to clear the “jam”.
