Tried to use Find and replace for removing soft hyphen \u00AD together with paragraph symbol $.
This is OCR doc document. It works separately, but I need to remove \u00AD only with following paragraph symbol to connect two parts of the word. How to do it?

u+00AD is a bit odd in that when I try to replace it with nothing, it is replaced with a space which makes the normal methods problematic.
If I use the extension Alternative Find & Replace for Writer (AltSearch) » Extensions it can do a bit more that Writer’s own tools but I still need a two stage process:
- In the Search for field enter
\x00AD\p
In the Replace field enter a token that is not in the text, e.g.Ă€
Replace All - In the Search for field enter spaceToken,
Ă€
In the Replace field delete everything so nothing is there
Replace All

With me,* replacing \u00AD$ with nothing only deletes the soft hyphen at the end of a paragraph, no space added.

I did that in LO 7.3.7.2. I have since upgraded to 7.5.5.2 for my work version and I see that no space is added. Maybe it was an anomaly on my PC because I just tried it on a parallel version of 7.3.1.3 which also worked correctly. Or maybe my test document at the time had some hidden spaces at the end of the paragraph
