I’ve been using the program for years and have never encountered this problem before. Out of the blue, all of a sudden the Find function refuses to work. I’ve always made a convenient habit of having the Find window open at the bottom left of the screen, but today I noticed that it was gone. So I went to manually turn it back on by choosing it in the Edit menu, but it still doesn’t open. I’ve even tried the usual keyboard shortcut of ctrl-F and it doesn’t work either. Any ideas what happened? I can live without the window constantly open, but I still need to have the ability to search for things. Nothing I do will accomplish that.

Try, if it works in safe-mode, if the suggestion by @Villeroy don’t work.
.
Check also, if the Find&Replace dialogue is available from the menu. You dont need to replace there, but can use it as find only
Actually, I guess I don’t need help after all. It turned out to be a weird fluke. I just restated my computer and it was working again. Thanks.
