My Writer document features Western Cattle Brands, many of which use “flipped” lettering i.e. “P” flipped. How do I accomplish this in LibreOffice? “B” is another frequently flipped letter.
If it helps you can try these,
choose the letter you want to flip and from menu Format→Character→Position→Rotation/Scaling and select the degrees you want. Unfortunately I can’t see 180 degrees which would flip the letter upside down.
In the Libreoffice help page i found this solution,
You can only rotate text that is contained in a drawing object.
- Choose
View→Toolbars→Drawingto open the Drawing toolbar.- Select the
Text icon- Drag in your document to draw the text object, and then type your text.
- Click outside of the object, then click the text you entered. Click the
Rotate iconon the Drawing Object Properties toolbar.- Drag one of the corner handles of the text object.
You can also right-click the text object, choose Position and Size, click the Rotation tab, and then enter a rotation angle or a new position for the object.

Rotating by 180° would be equivalent to subsequent flips “horizontally” and “vertically”.
