I know the routine how to let text follow a line or curve. Does someone know if it is possible to have this function with Fontwork text?
Yes, that is possible.
You need the Toolbar “Fontwork”, from View > Toolbars > Fontwork.
Use the “Fontwork-Form” icon.
Another example: a donut.

What I was looking for was Fontwork text following a predefined line, path, or Bézier curve. I know how to do this with regular text, but I’m not sure if it’s possible with Fontwork text as well.
Does anyone know?

What you are looking for is the tool Text along Path. You can find this tool in newer LO versions under
menu Format | Text Box and Shape | Text along Path
or
via icon in the drawing tools (should be added to the automatically generated tool bar, afaik).
Older versions name that tool the same way as Fontwork like the inbuilt Fontwork text tool.
Text along Path tool can be used in Draw, Impress, Writer but not in Calc.

Can’t be used in Fontwork text tool.

To apply enhanced text like made by Fontwork text to a BĂ©zier curve you could use affinity by canva.

You cannot do it directly in the UI, but it is possible in principle. Only that you need to edit a shape directly in the file markup. There was a workshop Creating 'Fontwork' geometries beyond the predefined shapes :: LibreOffice Conference 2022 :: pretalx Perhaps the attached files will give you an idea of how to do it.
