Footnote links to footnotes aren't exporting to pdf

hi,
I have a document with several pages of endnotes and I want to export it as a pdf, but the superscript numbers dont retain their links to the endnotes. the links are retained if i export as an epub instead, and footnotes retain their links in both epubs and pdfs. I dont know if its a bug or if (more likely) i changed a setting somewhere but any help is appreciated.
