Footnote Numbers suddenly changing colors

I was working on my document and the formatting of my footnotes was working fine until suddenly, from one day to another.

1. they were colored green
2. they can now only be added in yellow.

To clarify, this only affects the number that appears before the footnote characters; everything else is completely correct. The footnote anchor is also displayed as desired. Even when I delete all possible custom and applied styles from the character styles section, I still have the same problem.
Even earlier versions of the document, where I was still able to display footnotes as desired, now continue with yellow numbers when I try to insert a new footnote. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?

To get meaningful answers, always mention OS name, exact LO version (not “latest” which means nothing) and save format.

Due to the total lack of technical data and without seeing your screen, I’ll try a wild guess: have you inadvertently enabled track changes? See if Edit>Track Changes>Record is ticked.
