Hi
How to make footnotes for Arabic language
Here the problem
1-أستغفر الله العظيم و اتوب اليه
1-Ask forgiveness of Almighty God and repent to Him
U can see the footnote number in English is correct but in Arabic it’s supposed to be on the right side not left
I hope the libre team solve this as soon as possible
Thanks
You need to change two settings in paragraph style Footnote in Alignment
tab:
- set Options to Left
- select Properties as
Right-to-left (RTL)
You may also place the Separator Line between text and notes to the right of the page. Open the Footnote
tab of your page style and select Position Right
.
Depending on which note anchor you chose in Tools
>Footnotes & Endnotes
, you may create a Western-Arabic sequence resulting in word reordering. It might be better to request Arabic or Farsi note anchor so that your text is homogeneous and avoids Arabic-Western-Arabic sequences.
If you have both English and Arabic notes, it is recommended to create another paragraph style. Keep Footnote for English footnotes and derive an Arabic Footnote for the Arabic notes, changing only the above mentioned parameters.
