Format from '1.jan.2023 to 1 Jan 2023 so I can sort

I have copied a column of dates & some blanks to another column.
All dates are formatted as text ('1.jan.2023), but would like formatted as date in order to sort.
I have tried to clone formatting → no good.
I have tried FIND & REPLACE ’ with blank for the column → no good.
SHFT-CTR-3 produces nothing.

Seems like the only thing I can do is to delete the ’ in each cell (100s)

Any ideas ?

Mark the area and use from menu Data the entry “Text in columns”. This will give you something like the import filter. Select the appropiate format and the data will be converted.
.
Now apply formatting, as it will not work with text…
