General input/output error when opening .lwp file in LO 26.2.3.2

I have seen - somewhere on a libreoffice page - that improvements to opening .lwp files should appear in version 26.2.3. I get a general input/output error when trying to open a .lwp file from 1992.
I can open the file from a old Win XP with Smartsuite without problems.
I don’t know if the doublebyte characters sets used by Lotus may be the problem, but it could be very helpful to me if LO was able to read these files.
I cannot upload an example .lwp file to this site because .lwp is not on the positive list here.
I have a lot of .lwp files and it seems that the only product I can use to “bulk convert” files is LibreOffice. (Says AI solutions)
Can You help me here ?

Just rename to test.lwp.odt. It is a quite simple filter…

AI is not always right. But yes, LibreOffice can do command-line conversion, if it actually can read the format.
It would help, if you can verify your statment

I’ve only found something for v6.2 and that was not promising much: 123815 – Import from LWP files cause "General input/output error."

From my point of view, you will get the best conversion if you open the documents in SmartSuite, save them as .doc and then convert the .doc files to .odt.

That will conserve images and layout best
