Hello, can someone help me please.
I have a slide show to submit on Wednesday.
I put a gif as a background but there is no animation when i start the start slide.
I don’t understand why.

While I find I can play animated GIFs that are inserted as images, I cannot get animated GIFs to play when inserted as backgrounds. It would seem that backgrounds cannot be animated.
You might be best to insert your GIF as an image (Insert > Image) and drag it out to fill the slide. Then right-click on it and select Position and size and tick the box to Lock position. You can then add text boxes or other images over the top and the animated GIF will not move. You will have to copy and paste the slide to have the image on every slide.
An observation: make sure the animation does not distract the audience from the message you are trying to deliver.
