Greyed-out buttons in the toolbars on the main Libre Office window

All my toolbar icons on the main Libre Office window became greyed-out, even though they’re active. How can I fix it to see what’s on the icons?

Libreoffice Calc shows the same greyed out toolbar, so it looks like it’s a global error in my Libre office package.

Try, if safe mode helps:

If you have Windows dark mode set, try this. Click Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Advanced and untick Experimental features.

If it isn’t ticked try ticking it, OK, and then untick it.

Possibly, upgrade to LibreOffice 7.5.1.2 might solve issue

I tried to tick the experimental features, but the matters got worse, when the rolldown menus in the Writer went completely blank, so that I had to navigate to the checkbox by trial and error. However, 7.5.1.2 solved the issue. The culprit could also have been the Dark Reader extension in Chrome, which makes all the pages in dark mode (I don’t like to be blinded by the glare of my screens and prefer them to be darker). Actually, is the LibreOffice so much integrated with Google Chrome, that the Chrome extensions wreak havoc in Libre Office programs? I just hope that the experimental version of Lire Office isn’t too experimental and won’t crash y system someday  PS: Sorry for potentil typos, my keyboard is malfunctioning

I assume you have Windows Dark Mode set.

I suggested the experimental features because turning that off should prevent Windows Dark Mode from affecting the appearance of LibreOffice, but I do know that some people have said that switching it on then off alleviated the problem for them.

If you upgrade to 7.1.5.2 then probably the problem is solved. If not then in that version you can click Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View and in that dialogue you can set the mode to: System, Light or Dark.

I don’t have Chrome browser installed so I don’t know how well it integrates

IMHO it is not related at all. Just forget about your idea…

I solved this by going to Tools->Options->Libre Office->View and setting Icon Style to Colibre. All the breezy options are broken.
