I want to have a one column heading on the first page.
Then the rest of my document I want to make into two columns.
I’ve already tried selecting the parts I want as two columns, then going into the “More Options” of the “Layout->Page Columns” menu, but there’s nothing like “apply to selection”.
I’ve tried selecting the text, then going to Insert->Section and naming a section, but it makes no difference. It’s either all or nothing: the entire page is in one column, or the entire page is in two columns.
The closest solution I’ve found is to put my heading into the Header, but then it shows on every page. edit: actually if I click into the Header and click on the blue dialogue box that appears at the base of the Header, then click Format Header and deselect “Same content on first page” it seems to allow me to have a different header on each page.
