HDR Support on Windows

Hello,

I was wondering if HDR support was going to improve on Windows 10 since everything looks too small on 2K+ screens. I have a Huawei Matebook X Pro whose resolution is 3K and the display scale is set to 200%.

This results in the icons in the tabbed bar looking too small. When I followed the steps below to fix it:

  1. Go to C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program
  2. Right click on soffice.exe
  3. Properties
  4. Compatibility
  5. Change high DPI settings
  6. Change from “Application” to “System”. If it’s too blurry once scaled, try changing to “System (Enhanced)”

LibreOffice became pixelated and nothing was clear. I wonder if better support for HDR on Windows is planned and when to expect it.

Thanks,
Amjad Abujamous

I don’t have access to HDR screen.

Have you tried setting the icons to the svg version? They should scale, make the setting in Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View

What is HDR? AFAICT it’s more about games and videos?

Not only, I have seen several photos using the effect (and we even sold some pieces of art - also photo), but I fail to see how an office-software needs this, except perhaps in Powerpoint/Impress.
.
In any case I think the problems are more in the area of OS and graphic-drivers.

Only LibreOffice or also other Software?
Compare also the following (old) issue, wich hints on a possible relation between HDR and resolution.
