wondering why the master document doesn’t get the headers from subdocuments, with their fields and texts.
In my master document the headers appear in blank while in subdocuments it contains headers with specific
information in each subdocument (fields «anotations» and custom fields plus text) that I need to appear in the master.
Ideas? Thanks.
The styles in the Master document take precedence over the styles in the subdocuments. That means that if the styles on both have the same name, those on the Master will be used. Define the headers you need in the Master, not in the subdocuments.
Ok, but I don’t realize how to make different headers for each chapter (sub-document). They are also divided by sections. It is needed a different page style for each chapter/sub-document/section? If it is, how can the same original custom sub-document page style come automatically into a new sequence of master-document page styles?

@Thomé: headers are a property of page style; consequently you need one page style per header (usually you have a new header when you start a new chapter, which comes down to the “one page style per chapter” rule) unless you can generate your header from dynamic insertion, i.e. with fields and cross-references, in which case a single page style may be used over many chapters.
To have your custom “sub-doc page style” used by the master doc, make sure it has an original name, not found in master.

@Thomé that depends on the content you need on those headers. As @ajlittoz says, you need a different page style for each kind of header, BUT, if you only need them to differ in the name of the chapter, then Insert → Field → More Fields → Document tab: there you can insert a “chapter” field, set it to the correct level and everything will be fine, just one page style for all your documents.

Actually, I create customs fields for information in the headers of all chapter (year, issue etc) but in these same headers I need to appear the author of each chapter (I’ve created custom fields «author 1», «author 2» etc, but no success in insert them by chapter).
