How apply a Paragraph Style to a paragraph with certain tags?

I need some very basic help: in an .odt-document, I need to apply a custom paragraph style to all paragraphs beginning with the tag <sh2>. How do I do this?

I fail to search for some text and then to change the style of the paragraph that the text was found in. When I search for ^<sh2> and under Other options click Paragraph Styles (in order to then chose the custom paragraph style), the text in the Find field disappears and is replaced with a paragraph style name. What do I do wrong?

In the find&replace dialog click [Find All].
Then double-click the cell style in the stylist window.
