How can I export a spreadsheet to pdf?

I’m trying to export a spreadsheet so that

  1. I don’t accidentally change any values while trying to read it

  2. It’s easier to read

  3. It’s easier to read on another device

If I use File > Export, I only get the headers on the top-most and left-most pages, but I need them on every page. I also lose the grid, but I need enough of the grid to see which results are in which row. Is there a trick I’ve missed?

Do you want real headers (related to the Page Style) or you want repeated rows only?

Can you upload an ODF type sample document here?

Check the template for the page in Menu Format (or similiar - my locale is not english): The rightmost tab should be labeled Table and there you can decide to print also the Grid or even the headers.
.
This should also be exported to pdf (works with my 7.5 version).

Usually I dont print the grid, but use a conditional formatting for rows to apply a light grey background to all odd rows with a condition like ISODD(ROW(A1))

? If you dont select a cell you will not change values - mouse with wheel is very useful here. And especially you may reload the unmodified file anytime. The only thing to avoid is saving. Another option would be to protect your sheet in the OS. Usually just one checkbox…

I have to type to search. I also have to use navigation keys and scrolling software. I don’t want to accidentally type over one of the cells. I have to avoid scrollwheels, trackballs, and swipe gestures, because they would tear up my tendons.

In my case, the option is under Format > Page Style. I was looking for something in the export options.

The source file was not odf; I downloaded an xls dataset from the Maddison Project website.

Choose Format - Page Style - Sheet tab, Print section, and [x] Grid. This will include the grid (cell limits) in the PDF.

You can Protect Sheet (menu Tools). But that don’t meets your third criteria.

That means: you want to repeate some rows and/or columns on the printed paper.

Format - Print Range - Edit (add the desired rows and/or columns what you want to see repeated.)

You must do it in every Sheets.

The linked file has not native ODF format. I suggest you to use the native, international file formats for the LibreOffice.
