I have prepared a document with Libre Office and now want to send it to selected email addresses.
What OS are you using? What email application do you have? Or which webmail do you have, eg hotmail, outlook etc.
I have Gmail and I need to send an email soon.
There are a number of options, depending on your system, as @mark_t asked above. Including
- You need to tell LibO which E-mail system you are using. TOOLS > OPTIONS > INTERNET > E-mail ? then the program.
To send the document follow in LibO FILE > SEND and then you option, send as document, PDF, Word document etc. This will invoke you E-mail system.
- My Thunderbird E-mail system allows me to send a document as an attachment without usingLibO. When I say I attach, this automatically triggers the attachment process and you select the files to send. Other systems are similar…Peter
Windows10. Telus Webmail
If you are using gmail, “send as document” will open the gmail composer, but it won’t actually attach the document. You must then attach it manually.
The reason for this behaviour is that GMail service is not a mailer application. Send as document works with Thunderbird, Outlook and other dedicated mail applications. If your habit is to used Webmail interface with a browser like Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Internet Explorer, it won’t work.
Hi,
Valerie must not be here anymore since a while, but I would suggest using the extension eMailerOOo.
This extension will allow you not only to send emails, but also emailings from addresses coming from:
- Your Android phone contacts (ie: Google Contact)
- Your Microsoft Outlook contacts.
- Any CardDAV server (ie: Nextcloud server)
- Any Calc file (ie: the ods Calc file must be imported in an odb Base file)
And it works perfectly on Google servers (ie: gmail).
