Yahoo! Mail, Google Mail, and the like are not mail “agents” but specific applications in a web browser driven by macros. LO will not be able to send e-mails through web browsers because this needs too many commands (assuming the “application” is scriptable) and also there is no standardization about the applications.
Sending mail works only with real mail agents or specialized mail applications like Thunderbird or Outlook.
However, since configuring LO and the mailer may be tricky, depending on OS on your personal configuration, you might be better off using your mailing procedure and attaching your LO document to your e-mail. Since you may have your mailing app already running in the background, there are approximately as many key presses in both methods.
Sending a usual e-mail with an attachment is more reliable without the fuss of configuration. In addition, it also works with Yahoo! Mail, Google Mail and others.
