I will be through with what I want on a page, but it seems difficult to just start a new page, I now have a table filling a page, hitting enter does nothing to move to a new page.
Seems like it would be simple if there was a move to next page option, or start new page.
I suppose you’re asking for Writer.
In Writer, pages are not primary objects. They are a consequence of text flow. When a page is filled, a new one is started automatically.
Of course, this is not satisfactory for you. In fact, you don’t start a new page, you force an object to be aligned with the top of the writing area. You get this effect by modifying the Text Flow attributes of paragraph style.
But from your question, I assume you’re a newbie and you’re looking for a beginner’s trick.
At the location where you want to jump to next page, Insert
>Page Break
.
This is call direct formatting and is not recommended at all when you do elaborate things with “styles” which you should learn as soon as you’re becoming familiar with Writer’s possibilities.

Ctrl+Enter will insert a page break as well.
