Despite countless attempts there is a slight but perceptible difference between the left margin indent in different parts of the document on which I am working. Cutting’n’pasting doesn’t remove it, nor using the normal editing tools. Suggestions/solutions please!

Edit your question (no answer) to clarify: are you talking about page margins or paragraph boundaries (usually called indents in LO) and first line indent?
If first line indent, how do you make them? tabulation, spaces, paragraph style or toolbar cursor? Do you see the little differences because you justify the lines?
Don’t forget to mention your OS and LO version. If necessary, attach a short sample document with the issue
