I want to compile a list of song titles in alphabetical order using LibreOffice, preferably without using a spreadsheet, if possible.
As you didn’t describe the “song titles”, I assume each paragraph contains the song title and optionally singer name after some punctuation not present in any title. In particular, there is no “comment paragraph” between titles.
With such a structure, select the title paragraphs and Tools>Sort. The dialog offers several sort variants (ascending/descending, number of keys, …).
If you want to sort both on title and singer, enable a second key and define the field (key) separator as the unique punctuation separating title from singer.
Another possibility is to use a table with each column dedicated to a field: title, singer, label, comment, … This is more versatile, but don’t forget to select the whole table before Tools>Sort, otherwise only the selected columns will be reordered, leading to a real mess.

If each song title is a separate paragraph you can use Writer; just select the paragraphs to sort; then use Tools | Sort and select the options required.
