Is it possible to reset the default save to autoname a file with the first words of the document vs. “Untitled 1” default? That would be so helpful vs. having to manually change the filename every time.
Hello.
no - this is not possible.
Hello. Well, rats! It appears I received via email a question the following question from you that I don’t see here on the thread. It was: “How do you imagine this could be done? When you start a new document, it needs to have a temporary name and there is no text yet. What are the first few words of an empty document?” Whatever way MS Word does this is what I’m getting at. When one saves in Word, a filename is suggested that contains the first few words of the document that one is saving. I like that feature and would love to see it offered with LibreOffice Writer. Ah well, can’t say I didn’t try!
You asked : Is it possible to reset the default save to autoname a file with the first words of the document vs. “Untitled 1” default?
And my answer here is: No, this is not possible . And due to current implementation of LibreOffice not having this feature, I could not give another answer. If you want that implemented, you need to file an enhancement request here
**PS:** I have withdrawn my original comment, because I have expected that "**but MS Word could do that**-arguement.
Thanks very much for that link to the enhancement request!
