How do I change units to metric

I know this is an old question, and has supposedly been answered, BUT when I click on ‘tools’ I do not get an ‘options’ to click on!

Perhaps I should have said this is on an IMac;
alt + f12 brings up “sound effects”!

LibreOffice follows Mac OSX standards in this regards, and the preferences are in the global application menu-entry (and also uses the Mac-standard shortcut of +, for that).

Also, where it is + on Windows or Linux, it is + on Mac.
