I am making a document and like to have one third of the page dark green en the other 2 thirds alighter color green. On top of this I want to write but it keeps not showing the text if I put it into two collums. Its a portrait shape document and like the page green and from the left side one third darker green so that there is a line from top till bottom created by the color difference.
You didn’t describe your procedure (which menu commands are used, options chosen in the dialogs, etc.). Edit your question to provide these necessary details and also OS name and LO version. Don’t use an answer which is reserved for solutions.
Lacking information, here is is a general suggestion.
Background in pages is controlled by the page style. See Format
>Page Style
and go to the Area
tab.
Either you attach an image with the Bitmap
button or you try to make an adequate pattern with the Gradient
button.
In the latter case, the following settings could be selected:
-
Type
Linear
- Increment: deselect Automatic and set 3 levels (can’t be lowered to 2 but you want apparently to split your page in thirds)
- Angle 90°
- set your two shades of green in From Color and To Color
