How do I disable the Alt key?

I’m tryign to use diacritics through the default Windows 7 keyboard configs, and it requires holding the Alt key pressed while also pressing a letter, to use said diacritics. How can I disable the Alt shortcuts? In Writter 7.2.0.4 x54, I couldn’t find any shortcuts category or shortcuts list.

Normally, if you’re using the international keyboard, it is the right Alt key, sometimes marked AltGr.
You might have to go into language settings in Windows to add the keyboard, I can’t remember Windows 7 layout now

Use the Tools - Customize - Keyboard feature. You can modify only those shortcuts, what the LibreOffice assigned to. You can not modify the System shortcuts from the LO. Use the scope of Writer application option (instead of the whole LibreOffice option).

@EarnestAl I have the keyboard added, it works in other apps (like Chrome and Notepad), just not in LibreOffice, because pressing Alt moves the focus to the menu. I have that language as the default language of the keyboard, so it’s selected by default.

@Zizi64 That menu honestly looks like it should be part of the Options menu, honestly. I checked both the LibreOffice and the Writter scopes, and I don’t have any Alt+letter shortcuts, but I still cannot use the diacritics.

Edit: Alright, some time later, after I closed and reopened Writter a few times to try again, it randomly stared working. And it wasn’t the first time I closed the app after checking the menu you mentioned, @Zizi64 , it was the second time. That’s really strange.
