How do I edit a single index entry?

I running LibreOffice 26.2.5.2 on MacOS Tahoe 26.6.2
I want to edit an index entry. I locate the grey marker, right-click, and choose “Edit entry”.
However, when the editing box opens there is no option to save the edit. The only available option is “Reset” which does what the word suggests: it resets the entry back to its original value. The only way to change the entry seems to be to delete it and create it again.

Moreover, this screenshot does not correspond to the help document.
In general, the whole indexing function seems to me very clunky and awkward to use (I would comment on this further, but perhaps there is somewhere to requestion enhancements?)

I think that the changes are saved when you go to the next or previous enty

Edit what you need to change and Close. A dialog pops up asking if you want to save the changes.

It may change the extent of the index location from a full word or group of words to a spot at beginning of former extent.
