Similar to the format of word where adding hyphen/ number than space will automatically indent, i have searched through auto-correct options as well as bullet points and numbering but cannot find it.
Go to Tools
→ AutoCorrect Options
, Options
tab. What you’re looking for is called Apply numbering. Check it.
Now whenever you start a paragraph with a number followed by a period and a space or tab, you’ll get an indented list item. To stop, just hit “Return” to revert to a standard text paragraph.
If you prefer dashed items, start your paragraph with a hyphen and a space.
If you feel like bulleted items, start with a star (*). The star will change for the glyph selected in the autocorrect options. To customise the bullet, select the option line in the dialog, then push the Edit
button.
Note: this way of formatting lists is acceptable for quick-and-dirty one-shot documents like short letters and should never be used for elaborate documents. Prefer use of appropriate styles.

Thank you for your reply, though unfortunately when i enter a number followed by a period and then space, or hyphen and then space, it does not provide and indented list item. Following the below guide i have ‘bulleted and number lists’ ticked in the auto correct options and have auto correct set to ‘while typing’ but it still doesn’t work, i have trued resetting but no success.
