How do I enter a formula to add figures in a column?

I am still new to libreoffice. how do I enter a formula to add figures in a column?

=SUM(A1:A9) ? (or whatever first and last cell instead of A1 and A9).

There is a quick way to SUM a contiguous column.

  1. Click in the cell at the bottom of the column.
  2. Click the Sigma symbol ÎŁ next to the formula bar and select SUM, it will suggest the range to sum in the column.
  3. You can drag the selection to change the range if needed. Press Enter when happy with selection to get the result
