I am still new to libreoffice. how do I enter a formula to add figures in a column?

=SUM(A1:A9) ? (or whatever first and last cell instead of A1 and A9).

There is a quick way to SUM a contiguous column.
- Click in the cell at the bottom of the column.
- Click the Sigma symbol ÎŁ next to the formula bar and select SUM, it will suggest the range to sum in the column.
- You can drag the selection to change the range if needed. Press Enter when happy with selection to get the result
