Grandmom wants to use all Microsoft formats.
This is the first thing many people want to do when getting LO.
Is there an ELI5 version of the instructions I can give her?

Here are a bunch of answers for corporate roll-out, which my grandmom will not read Save as MS Office format by default
Doesn’t matter what she wants. What matters is what she has to do, and @Alex_Kemp said it in his PS. If not, she’ll lose data at some point due to incomplete support for M$ formats.
Hi fulldecent
I got the following info by using the (downloadable) help in 5.0.0.5 and entering:-
- F1→type “save” + <Enter>→choose “Saving Documents in Other Formats”:

Always save as
)OK
From now on, when saving a Text document, etc. it will be saved as the specified default. It is still possible to change to any of the possible filetypes when saving.
PS
It is advised to always save in the (standard default) ODF Text Document, etc. types, and only to switch types for inter-change with other users.
